Hmm...what's a tri-trip?

Today was a good day. My wife and I took my son out to lunch at his favorite restaurant, then we all did another Escape Room--got out in less than 40 minutes.

All of this was to spend a last family day together, because first thing tomorrow morning he goes to Army Boot Camp.

Hi! We had a basically-private family movie night viewing of The Kid Who Would Be King (because of course pretty much the entire town was glued to their TVs watching some primitive gladiatorial event...but without swords. Imagine that? *grin* ).

Tri-tip, YUM! Sounds awesome Ryrin! Was it marinated? Dry-rubbed? ? I have a friend who does a pear-sake marinade on tri-tip that is incredible.

I had the most awesome Thursday. I got a lot of rest. Swam laps for 45 minutes. Sat in the hot tub. Had lunch in the café (taco salad.) Got a deep tissue massage at the massage therapy school. Went to Panera's for a chocolate chip cookie, iced tea, and reading. Like the best day ever. Lol.

That does sound like the best day ever!

We tried a new restaurant in town for lunch today that sells sushi and poke bowls. I had the most delicious salmon bowl (with a variety of tasty veggie things, and a ginger dressing). It was basically like all my favorite sushi fillings, but a salad. My son took advantage of build-your-own to make his own bowl with tofu, cucumbers, and avocado on top of his sushi rice. They actually had a beef bulgolgi bowl that my husband got (wasn't as good as the homemade bulgolgi I'm used to from our friends who used to live in Korea, but it was good). It was a nice family day-out. Then we shopped for the week and are planning our family trip to Florida in March (my sister-in-law is getting married, and then we're gonna hit Universal Orlando for a day because we've never been and we'll be so close!).

  • 3 weeks later...

Thanks! It should be a lot of fun. I am just really happy to work for a school where you don't feel guilty for taking days off (and where I wasn't looked askance for taking them off the weekend 'before' Spring Break, so our pre-Spring Break week I'm only back for three days, then off again!).
