This was a for sure one of my biggest bucket list shows to see. We had pit seats. I ended up on Duff McKagan's side not Slash but Duff totally kicked ass the entire show and they did switch spots a few times. Mostly I was closest to Axl. His voice was on point and the one sound issue they had he made endearing instead of disaster.

My first experience at the NRG Stadium was a good one overall. Parking was really easy and walking around it looked very similar to American Airlines Center in Dallas. The only issue with these stadiums is the distant feeling you get if you can not afford a great seat. I have seen Slash with Myles Kennedy in the Dallas House of Blues and that was a really close intimate gig.  The wait for the band was a little nerve wracking because the slide screens they had up (def some kick ass graphics) kept making everyone think they were about to come on, which was sometimes amusing.

I mentioned a sound issue. It was during November Rain. The piano was not picking up sound much and it did throw the song off a little but Axl powered through and still made it awesome.

It was packed I guess but we arrived early and I always seem to make friends with anyone near me at concerts so we had lots of breathing room and no one was blocking my view at all. We bought our tickets off a guy who won them on the radio but he and his wife could not go. He even gave us the shirts that he got with the tickets and the whole experience felt very VIP for anyone with pit passes.

The only wtf moment of this concert was the fact that Skrillex was the opening act. It seemed a strange choice and none of the crowd near me seemed to really dig most of it. He mixed a few rock songs and then the crowd would pick up but personally I thought the crowd and the performer did not match at all. But I did later read an article from the rolling stones where the guy himself talked about the show and I found it interesting to see it from another side. http://www.rollingstone.com/music/features/skrillex-talks-polarizing-guns-n-roses-opening-gig-w433878

It was a once in a life time kind of concert.

I love that review and the show must have been awesome !

it's really nice to see that there were 4 encore songs... i remember a gig, where a band left earlier than announced with no encore nor anything *sighs* it was a bit disappointing.
