  2. You did great! One thing, unless it has changed since I joined, you have to be 13 or over to join DM. Ready for more? Part Two: The Subgroups So what we normally recommend is that you start a post in your class thread and go back and edit it over time, and that the format is as follows: [Ajah/Guild] --[Who is in charge] --[general focus if there is one] --[link to relevant post #1] --[link to relevant post #2] Rinse and repeat for at least five of the eight Ajahs and Warders Guild. * We also ask that for the Guild, you go into the

  4. It's so good to see you back, Sooh! You have an adorable son, and congrats on the daughter on the way!
  5. Dragonmount, massive pillar of the WoT community, hello! I know this might be your first time meeting me but I've met you before. I started reading the series in 2005 and finished in 2019. In that period I discovered and perused Dragonmount a few times but was always wary of spoilers, so I shied away until I finished. With the news of the Amazon show generating a level of hype not seen since the publication of the last book. I decided to dip my toes into the waters of content creation. I run a humble YouTube Channel: The Bard of the Red Hand (Formerly The Gleemen) and a podcast called Th

  7. Michael McHelhatton will of course be immediately recognisable to many Fantasy Fans due to his portrayal as Roose Bolton in Game of Thrones. Am very interested to see him playing what is in many ways a very different role. Has a huge body of work including several dozen Movies and TV Shows. Kae Alexander is another GOT veteran but won’t be recognisable from her GOT role. While a very minor character in GOT(only 3 Episodes) she was involved in 2 pivotal scenes.
  8. The book goes much further with some of the psychological aspect, especially in regards to Ender's reactions to what is being done to him. It's been a bit since I've watched the movie but that was what I missed the most from the book was Ender's thought process. Which is, of course, the most difficult thing to show in film format. Other than that, the filmmakers did a beautiful job with the story. They did leave out some of the Peter/Valentine subplot, but that didn't bother me too much.
  9. If we want to get into more minor characters, Maria Doyle Kennedy (Ila) is great, too! She's played Mistress Cameron in Outlander, Catherine of Aragon in the Tudors, and several other big roles like Orphan Black. There's also Priyanka Bose (Alanna), but I think she's more familiar for her Bollywood/Tollywood films, which I'm not familiar with. I do know Kate Fleetwood (Liandrin) from roles such as Harlots (Nancy) and ITV's Victoria (Queen Victoria's sister Feodora) too, but she's perhaps not well known as the big names like Pike, Okonedo, etc.
  10. A post saying "DONE!" Your Mentor(s) LOL ummm I have no idea who my mentor was right now and I was mentor to a lot of people including the Amyrlin. Your Rank and Ajah/Discipline: Green Ajah but I haven't officially started the rejoining process and need to figure out how
  11. You're absolutely right. I was referring primarily to the Emond's Field folk, but I definitely should not have omitted Sophie. She's very accomplished.
  12. Well I might be a super lurker especially as I am getting ready to graduate and then transition to working full time out of the home since before my 12 year old was born. *G*
  13. Thank you! I am Purple Ajah, the name of a popular theory about the Wheel of Time (although my fave real Ajahs are the Brown and the Gray). I read the book series in 2017 and am also interested in the new show. I like many characters from the series such as Verin and Moiraine. Aside from WoT, my big interest is fantasy, and I have an interest in creative writing. In real life, I am a university student in my 3rd year (junior year in the US) and I am from the UK. I have worked abroad teaching English as a second language but alas, in present times, my life has become rel
  14. I would also point out that Sophie Okonedo (Siuan) is also pretty established! She is a Tony winner, and was very well-received in the BBC's production of The Hollow Crown (Based on Shakespeare's Histories). She and Pike struck me as the most impressive castings, but then I am biased, being from the UK, and I am not as familiar with Morte and Henney. Aside from the older, more established characters, I am mostly expecting unknowns. Especially for the younger characters. A show as large and expansive as this is a big commitment for any actor.
  15. Honestly, I put very little stock in the 'look' of the actor. Given what can be done with makeup, costumes, etc. a look can change dramatically. Rosamund Pike (Moiraine) and Daniel Henney (Lan) are both established actors with excellent work to their credit. Alvaro Morte (Logain) is wildly popular in Spain and, judging by what I've seen, is also a very good actor. The rest are mostly unknowns with two or three leading roles in small films to their credit. I've watched clips of all of them and all seem very capable. I'm excited to finally see them on screen. Can't belie

  18. This topic is so interesting. I started reading WoT (The Eye of the World) this year in January. That's my first book of the year. So probably will not take any serious series before finishing this one. I haven't read Ender's Game, but I watched the movie. It's...unforgettable. It's a pity it wasn't really popular. I really like the story and the concept. How far does the movie follow the book?
  19. Yeah, I'm a little scared at the prospect, but I just have to power through the first couple of years with her as well, and then maaaaybe I'll at least have parts of my night back 😄 It has been a while, yeah! Thank you! Yeah, he's a handful. He's starting to be mischiveous too, and have his mini tantrums. So far it's mostly just funny. I hope he'll realize that too. I think it might have been easier to have him wear them if we started earlier, like you said before age 1, but we'll see. He might take to them just fine.
  20. I freeze it into ice cubes. Then I take the cubes and put them in a freezer bag. When I want to make lemonade, I pull them out. I had a ton of lemons. They are Meyer lemons and I like them the best. Meyer lemons are native to China and they are a cross between a lemon and a mandarin orange. It looks like a lemon. It has lots of juice and is not as tart as a regular lemon. Today I started a new painting.
  21. I’m sorry you have to experience a difficult ex. I can only imagine how stressful it is. Is there anything you can do about the false reports?
