About this blog

A blog where I post my WoT-thoughts, and inspirations for my future Wheel of Time digital art project.

Empress Fortuona

I've been really struggling with Tuon. She's one of those I can never really get a good grip on. I've seen so many that are close, but not quite there...   Wiki describes her as: "She is dark and petite with large brown eyes, a heart-shaped face and full lips. Because of her station, her head is shaved and she has long, lacquered fingernails."   This lovely lady I found while watching reruns of seaso 7 of So you think you can dance. She's a singer and had a live performance there. I was

Jahar Narismha, Asha'man

Been quiet here from me for a while. Sometimes it takes a bit of time to find inspiration, and when it finally comes, I have DM issues and can't post! But here we are. I've found the perfect face for Jahar Narishma, the young, pretty Asha'man. He's been one of those who I really struggle with finding a face for, but while watching The Perks of Being a Wallflower a couple of weeks ago, I found him...   First, how does Narishma look like? The wiki says: "Often described as a "pretty youth," Jaha

Min Farshaw, boyish beauty

I've neglected this little project of mine for a long time.   To those who hasn't visited before: I am not casting for a movie. I'm looking for inspirations for when/if I ever get good enough at digital painting to make my own series of WoT characters. So my inspiration might be actors, models, politicans or just normal people.   What do we know of Min and how she looks? I think she's refered to as boyish a couple of times, in that her face is a bit androgynous. So, dark short curly hair,

Gawyn; whiny little princeling

Well, I actually like Gawyn. I'm hopeless; except for the characters you're supposed to dislike, I don't have anyone I hate   Gawyn is hard. He's got golden hair, blue eyes, bla bla bla. And he's supposed to look like Elayne. In my mind, I think it's mostly their colouring that makes them instantly recognisable as siblings, combined with a certain attidue   I came across Jamie Campbell Bower while looking at inspiration for Galad actually, but I saw him and thought of Gawyn at once. It's v

Moiraine; Aes Sedai and woman.

Moiraine really is one of the hardest for me to pinpoint. Some characters I know that I just haven't found the right face yet, but I'll know it when I see it. But Moiraine... I feel like I see parts of her all the time. That's the difficulty with her; she has so many parts. She has the young, childish part we see in New Spring, the rare, compassionate person we sometimes see hints of, the cool Aes Sedai, the heated, passionate Aes Sedai, and then Moiraine the woman.   So for Moiraine I'll prob

Elaida; the false Amyrlin.

Elaida is one of those characters I never really managed to picture. Exactly how does one look "handsome, but severe"? Exactly what is a handsome female face? My reasoning is that someone being described as handsome is not pretty or beautiful, but neither ugly; it's a face that has something undefinably visually pleasing in some way, but not in a pretty way. So yeah, Elaida has more or less been a blurry oval in my head *laughs*   And then I started watching Dexter a couple weeks back. And aft

You love her or hate her: Elayne, the Andoran Rose

Ok, so I'm actually one of the very few who really like Elayne and her story arcs. I'm not saying she's flawless or perfect (who in WoT is that...), but I like her. I think she's warm, caring, determined and brave. She does stupid things, yes, but in her heart she cares truly and deeply about her people and country, and she's a true Aiel at heart when it comes to protecting those close to her.   Anyhow, I'm rambling. Elayne was the easiest person for me to vizualise in my head. From the very f

Welcome and about

Hiya, welcome to my blog. I'm Misheru, Mish for short, or Michelle in real life. I am working on learning digital painting, and my goal is to create a whole ton of WoT-art. Portraits of characters, of course, but hopefully also scenes from the story and the world. I'm nowhere NEAR having anything to show off, I've got a lot to learn. But this blog is where I share things that will be my inspiration; actors, models or people who remind me of characters, architecture, clothing... Keep in mind, the
